KDA Hospital wins by 8 runs in Atmaram More Memorial Cricket Tournament

MUMBAI -:Senior journalist Late Atmaram More Memorial Inter Hospital T20 Cricket Tournament organized by Atmaram More Foundation, Prathamesh Mahadik, Sanket Kini, Deepak Singh, Dr. Harshal Wagh, led Andheri’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani-KDA Hospital to an 8-run win over Somaiya Hospital and entered the semi-finals. Medium-pacer Deepak Singh was named the Man of the Match and aggressive batsman Rahul More received the Best Player award in the presence of Prathamishthan’s Executive President Viraj More and Shiv Chhatrapati Award winner Leeladhar Chavan.

KDA Hospital won the toss and elected to bat first in the tournament organized by Ideal Sports Academy in association with Life Insurance Corporation of India. Openers Prathamesh Mahadik (37 runs in 40 balls) and Dr. Harshal Wagh (16 runs in 16 balls) gave KDA Hospital a strong start of 61 runs for 1. Despite the fact that spinner Rahul More (3 wickets for 24 runs) shook the middle innings, Sanket Kini (35 not out in 16 balls) and Alket Tandel (20 runs in 15 balls) batted brilliantly to help KDA Hospital post a challenging total of 130 for 6 in their limited 20 overs.

Chasing the winning target, Somaiya Hospital’s Dr. Praneet Bikkad and Pratik Goregaonkar were dismissed by medium-pacer Devendra Phanse (3 wickets for 18 runs) for 15 runs. Then, Sushant Gaikwad (24 runs in 23 balls), Prakash Pujari (31 runs in 41 balls), Rahul More (34 runs in 26 balls) batted strongly and took Somaiya Hospital to 106 runs for 3 in the 16th over and brought it close to victory. But with quick wickets from medium-pacer Deepak Singh (3 wickets in 11 runs) and spinner Karan Patole (2 wickets in 16 runs), Somaiya Hospital’s innings collapsed to 122 runs for 9 in 20 overs. As a result, KDA Hospital won by a close margin of 8 runs. On the occasion of the tournament, the former captain of the Tata Hospital cricket team, Dr. S.H. Jafri, will be felicitated on the closing day-19th February.
