‘India Post: Expo Symposium’

Mumbai, India : In a significant move to enhance International Postal Logistics and strengthen ties with exporters, Maharashtra Postal Circle hosted the ‘India Post: Expo Symposium’ today at Azure Fairfield by Marriott, Mumbai.
With the rise of global e-commerce and cross-border trade, especially among small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the symposium brought together key stakeholders from the international export and logistics ecosystem to explore collaborative growth opportunities.
Designed as a dynamic platform for dialogue and innovation, the event enabled India Post to connect directly with high-volume exporters and showcase its cutting-edge global delivery services, including EMS (Speed post Service), International Tracked Packet and International Business Parcel.
The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including:
Shri Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle; Shri R K Mishra, Directorate General of Foreign Trade; Ms. Kaiya Arora, Director Postal Services, Mumbai Region, Ms. Simran Kaur, Director Postal Services (Head Quarter) Mumbai, and Shri Abhijeet Ichake, Director Postal Services, Navi Mumbai Region.
Key Objectives of the Symposium included :
• Engagement with key exporters and e-commerce leaders to understand evolving logistical needs
• Demonstration of international mail solutions, covering end-to-end tracking, customs facilitation, and global connectivity
• Recognition of top-performing clients through awards for trust and consistent usage
• Signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Posts (DoP), Maharashtra Circle, and the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO)
The MoU aims to promote and streamline postal logistics under the Postal Export Promotion (PEP) Scheme, which supports SMEs through simplified export processes, regulatory compliance assistance, and ready-to-use packaging solutions at select post offices.
Speaking at the event, Shri Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle emphasized the organisation’s mission to become the most trusted and accessible export logistics partner for Indian businesses navigating global markets. He further said “India Post continues to evolve in steps with the needs of modern exporters. The Expo Symposium underlines India Post commitment to bridging gaps in international trade logistics and empowering the SME sector.”
Additional DGFT Shri R K Mishra in his address emphasised upon the importance of packaging and marketing of products to tap into their export potentials. He encouraged exporters to explore new international markets through attending Symposium like the one conducted by IndiaPost.
With India’s export landscape expanding rapidly, the symposium marked a milestone in India Post’s ongoing journey to modernize its international logistics infrastructure and reaffirm its role in powering the nation’s global trade ambitions.
