Robo Bionics Redefines Prosthetic Care in India with Its ‘Grippy Bionic Arm’; Scales Clinic Partnerships to Reach More Users

Mumbai (RMN.IN),: Indian medtech startup Robo Bionics is on a mission to make advanced
prosthetic care accessible and affordable across India. Its flagship product, the Grippy Bionic Arm,
combines human-centered design and digital innovation to empower amputees with enhanced
mobility and control.
Founded with a vision to bring world-class prosthetic technology to Indian users, Robo Bionics began
as a direct-to-consumer venture but soon identified high individual costs and limited reach as
barriers. This led to a strategic shift to a clinic-driven B2B model, enabling greater reach through
trained prosthetic specialists and rehabilitation centers.
The startup’s growth accelerated through the Kotak BizLabs Accelerator Programme, which
provided mentorship, strategic guidance, and ecosystem access. Run in collaboration with IIMA
Ventures, the innovation and entrepreneurship arm of IIM Ahmedabad, the programme draws on an
extensive mentor network of industry experts and alumni founders to help startups scale faster.
Under the programme, Robo Bionics achieved key milestones such as ISO certification, clinic
partnerships in Baroda and Indore, and the introduction of app-based prosthetic usage and training
tools to enhance patient outcomes. Mentorship from experts including Dr. Pooja Mukul (Jaipur
Foot) and Dilnawaz Khan helped the team refine its strategy and strengthen its innovation roadmap.
Reflecting on the journey, Co-Founder Llewellyn D’sa noted that Kotak Bizlabs not just gave Robo
Bionics a different take on Scaling Up, but the training and sessions also guided the team on creating
Strategic and Sustainable Models to overcome the Valley of Death to create an Established Business.

and pivot fast.
