MUMBAI : RMI.COM(M) Royal Challengers Bengaluru climbed to the top of the TATA IPL 2026 points table with a thrilling two-wicket win against Mumbai Indians. Speaking on JioHotstar’s ‘Google Search AI Mode Match Centre Live’, JioStar experts Ravichandran Ashwin, Mark Boucher, and Harbhajan Singh lauded the performances of Krunal Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, discussed RCB’s areas of concern, and hailed Urvil Patel for his fearless knock in the CSK-LSG match.

Speaking on JioHotstar’s ‘Google Search AI Mode Match Centre Live’, JioStar expert Ravichandran Ashwin reckoned that Bhuvneshwar Kumar has put his hand up for a recall into the Indian T20I side:

“Hashtag ‘BringBackBhuvi’ I’d love to see him being considered for the T20I side. Tick with the new ball, able to complete the death overs nicely, and if you need a six under pressure, he’s hammering that as well in the toughest part of the ground. That was proper Test-match bowling after he realised there was something in the surface. He keeps testing you as an opening batter. To dismiss Rohit Sharma with that peach, a slower ball that just swung, was quite incredible. And later on, he was selfless enough to execute the yorker when he could have gone for a fourth wicket. Extremely happy for him. With Krunal Pandya– we know HR managers and project managers, but that was proper ‘pressure management’. If you need one, please dial K for Krunal Pandya.”

On concerns for RCB going forward:

“If you look at the tournament and how it’s placed, RCB have lost only two games on the bounce. They’re not that deep in trouble. But they were desperate to win this game. A win in this game means RCB are on a roll yet again. They can really start putting the foot to the accelerator now and move ahead strongly in the tournament. However, they do have an area or two of concern. I think it’s very easy to look at Romario Shepherd and wonder whether you potentially replace him with somebody else and explore other options. But when you know what Romario Shepherd is capable of, and when you have the luxury of defending a title while sitting pretty at the top of the table as the coaching staff, I would be thinking, ‘If Romario Shepherd comes off, and if he turns it on a big day, I would have invested correctly in backing him.’ So, they’ve got that luxury, and I think they can afford to stay a bit more patient with him.”

Speaking on JioHotstar’s ‘Google Search AI Mode Match Centre Live’, JioStar expert Mark Boucher hailed Krunal Pandya for his match-winning knock:

“In low-scoring games, you need street fighters to win you matches. When I look at Krunal Pandya, I see a street fighter. He’s not always easy on the eye, but he finds a way. It’s like the dog in a fight, he just wouldn’t go down. I think Mumbai Indians showed some great intent. There was a lot of desperation, but they were really up against one man, and that was Krunal Pandya. He did his part brilliantly. At one point, it looked like he could barely stand anymore; he was just standing there swinging. And when he swung, most of the time, he hit the middle of the bat. This game has to go down as a massive tick for Krunal Pandya. He wanted it desperately; you could see it in his eyes.”

Speaking on JioHotstar’s ‘Google Search AI Mode Match Centre Live’, JioStar expert Harbhajan Singh heaped praise on Urvil Patel for his destructive knock to take CSK home against LSG:

“The first six sixes seemed like he had decided to target just one area, cow corner, and he kept going for it. Some amazing hitting there from Urvil Patel. Then Shivam Dube finished the match with those two sixes. He didn’t get much of a chance in the last couple of games, but when the moment came and two big hits were needed against a part-time spinner, he was not going to miss. It was a must-win game for Chennai Super Kings. LSG must be disappointed because they had the game and let it slip with those dropped catches and middle-order batting. Their season has been like that; they come close, but the opposition repeatedly wins the big moments, and it was Urvil in this game. On a pitch where batting wasn’t all that easy, the way he struck the ball was commendable. He is definitely one for the future.”
