MUMBAI (RMN.IN):: A packed day of quarter- final and knockout fixtures at Don Bosco (Matunga) witnessed dominant displays, high-scoring wins and tense shootouts across multiple age-group leagues in the Dream Sports MSSA Inter-School Hockey Tournament yesterday. From powerful attacking performances to gritty defensive stands, teams in the U-16 Girls Panchgani O.B League, U-16 Boys Ahmed Sailor League, U-16 Jr. Aga Khan Knockout, U-16 Girls Smt. KG Kalantari Knockout, and U-14 Girls Fr. Donnelly League delivered an exciting day of competitive hockey.
The morning opened with Carmel of St. Joseph advancing to the semi-finals after a 1–1 draw and a composed 4–1 shootout win against Duruelo Convent. New Bombay City School produced one of the standout results of the day, overwhelming Lakshdham 8–0 with a hat-trick from Sonakshi Nandikole and strong support from the forward line.
In the Boys’ U-16 Ahmed Sailor League, Dr. Antonio D’Silva (Dadar) claimed a 5–2 victory over St. Xavier’s (Goregaon), while St. Lawrence (Borivali) registered a confident 2–0 win over Childrens Academy. St. Stanislaus (Bandra) continued their dominant run with a 4–0 performance against Gokuldham, before Don Bosco (Matunga) capped the quarter-finals with an emphatic 6–0 win over Don Bosco (Borivali), powered by a Royden Koli hat-trick.
The U-16 Boys Jr. Aga Khan Knockout saw Lakshdham progress with a narrow 1–0 win over St. Dominic Savio, while in the U-16 Girls Smt. KG Kalantari Knockout, Gokuldham (Goregaon) cruised to a 4–0 win over St. Xavier’s (Goregaon), led by a hat-trick from Grishma Keluskar. Ryan International (Sanpada) continued the scoring trend with a 7–0 victory over Mount Carmel ICSE.
In the U-14 Girls Fr. Donnelly League, St. Teresa won by default, while Bai Avabai Petit and Don Bosco (Borivali) played out a goalless draw to end the day’s proceedings.
